SMU Players at Wash State

Postby AustinPerson » Fri Sep 05, 2014 9:48 pm

1. Gabe Marks mysteriously hasn't played this year. But running the scout team as QB. Speculation is an injury. But Pirate wont say. So maybe a redshirt after being top receiver last year?

2. Robert Lewis finally got a pass thrown his way tonight. But hasn't done much else in his career. Little guy. So cute I want to hug him. He's caught some passes tonight.

3. Kache Palacio has been starting linebacker for a while. Seems good.

4. Pettway was a linebacker who retired due to concussions.

Let's go Nevada.

Lewis is a greyshirted redshirt freshman. So I don't know what you mean by career because he just started his career at Washington State. You might be right about Marks.

Robert Lewis was always planned to be a greyshirt/redshirt freshman. That's a Leach trademark with greyshirts. Now he's starting in 2nd game of "Freshman year". Who was that said Lewis, the National Top 250/ LA Player of the Year, was too frail to play College football and that SMU ran him off even after he had been committed for half a year? BTW Shelby Walker who has already played for SMU is skinner as a freshman at 6-0, 144 than Lewis was as a high schooler

We haven't sniffed the Klemm level of recruiting since he left. JJ thought it wasn't important, and now we have what we have - a big matchup with North Texas.

Peruna Punch made comments somewhat like that I believe. I know we got into a discussion about that. Hopefully we are past our differences on that.

Our resident recruiting expert trying to excuse the fact that none of the California recruits gave SMU a chance once Klemm left and questioning his judgment. Klemm has about 10 one time commits starting in the PAC right now plus several at SMU including Gottschalk, Laseki and Weeks

3 for 36 so far

North Texas state should have never been a "big game". I think the BU game may be an exception and expect SMU to be better, although recruiting has dropped but I don't think dropped to NTSU levels.
