Sewell, Gerald Ford, Loyd, Hunt, etc...the people paying June. What do they think? Surely they don't think they're getting a solid ROI right now. Are they as fed up as we are?

Rick will do what they tell him to do

Say you're one of the big$ guys. You have watched us get it handed to us the last couple of weeks, and you're angry. Hart calls and says "We appreciate your support of JJ, but it's time to make a change. So we'd like you to send your money for the remainder of your portion of his salary for this season, AND a portion of the buyout, AND a chunk of cash for a new coach, and we're hoping to hire (COACH'S NAME), who has a lot of wins, a strong reputation, etc. So instead of $100,000 this year, we'd like you to cough up maybe a quarter of a million, plus a big check each year going forward."

Yes, these guys are gazillionaires and can afford a big wad of cash, but considering how much some of them like JJ personally, do they pull the trigger? Or do they decide they're rather ride it out at the current pricetag?

I don't know. My financial decisions revolve around things like whether to bring lunch to the office or go out to eat. Different world.

Might depend on how much flak and pain their business associates give them. I'm sure most of them have pretty big egos and won't like their business friends throwing a massive defeat by denton college in their faces. Especially those alums from BU and aTm.

Key is, gotta get the big money donors involved now because they have an integral part to play in hiring a good replacement. Next question is, are any actual options available now or do we go with an interim coach for the remainder of the season from the current staff then fire in the off-season. Third question is, how do we get this change solidified and a powerful and high-pub. team on the field before we lose too many recruits and get too many decommits.

As business people they must have expectations that have to be met. So, they must be upset with the performance. However, I think they will let the year play out before making the change. If it was up to a AD or one individual, I think he would have been released after the last contract. Of course we don't have all of the facts related to his contracts.

I am sure they have already discussed these contingency plans with the last contract extension since they supposedly lower the buyout. You sound like Corso. Do you know any CoC members? Ride it until the contract is over in 2 or 3 years? Are you kidding me?

I didn't want him to begin with. One could see who JJ was at Hawaii. It told ya all ya needed to know.

I wouldn't worry about decommits. I don't think there are any kids with 40 offers that we have a commit from.

no - its not ride it out for 2-3 years. It is ride it out 2-3 months. That is what will happen. Announcement will be made around Thanksgiving - and there will have been lots of conversations with a hand full of candidates prior to that time. They are sending in resumes right now. There are a lot of very talented 800k coaches who would prefer a shot at a 2M job.

True, it could be more or less depending on the candidate.
