Note: Chad Morris or any of the OC under 50 we are looking at would be preferred.

You can't not say he wasn't the best recruiter we ever had...

Give me enough cash to pass out and I could recruit anyone I want.

It's not everyday you can throw out crazy coach ideas. I am just basking in the moment.

While young, unproven, up-and-comer may be the way to go, don't count someone out because of their age. If they have the passion, drive, energy, and connection with kids we are seeking, then let's at least have an interview. I am certain 50% or more thought LB was a ridiculous hire.

When my mom heard the news, she said, "Good! Let's hire Lou Holtz!"

Quite a Sherman-Woodesque response.

Here's the thing, though, we're not going to get a football equivalent of Larry Brown.

The older coaches that would consider our job are either looking for a comfy job to ease into retirement or are way past their prime and willing to take any job.

We need a young, energetic coach that hustles in recruiting and brings something innovative to the table on offense and defense.

Some people are saying that we need someone that is going to be here for the long run. I don't agree. Where our program is right now, the only coaches that will come and plan to be here for the long run are the ones that have already proven they can't hack it at the next level.

I want a guy that wants to be on the short list the next time an Alabama or Texas type job opens up. Why? Because if he can get his name on that short list, he's moved SMU up a level or two in competitiveness and makes the job even more attractive if he does leave.
