Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programIf TCU made a total 360 wouldn't they still be where they were?
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programThat headline is misleading - he said if you don't fix it, kill it. That is a big condition, which isn't mentioned in the headline.
God I hate reporters.
Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programTitle is misleading. He did not say kill the program, he said if the don't want to do anything they should kill the program. And that is what the former players said. Some on this board thought we should get rid of football or go to D2 at one time if things did not get better.
Title now says: Eric Dickerson: SMU 'doesn't exist' (which still isn't entirely what ED said) Last edited by Rebel10 on Wed Sep 10, 2014 10:19 am, edited 4 times in total.

Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programThis is just typical clickbait since we're in the ESPN DFW footprint.

Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programWell, this is the stuff that happens when you're the first program in the country to fire your Head Coach, 2 games into the season.
Hopefully, this just helps to motivate the admin. We'll see.
Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programthat's evil
maybe they want to set up another non-historical, non-journalistic mockumentary The ncaa is a R.I.C.O.
Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programI really hate to be a nit-picker but didn't ED mean a "180?" A "360" would just put them right back here with us. Just sayin'...
And no offense to ED but has he seen the team in the past three years? I liked June, but seriously? ED is upset that we want to recruit? Support the Commitment! We're all SMU Mustangs fans- we should all be committed!
Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programI agree withhim. It is frustrating as Hades watching the mess we put on the field now. If the school isn't serious about football, then kill it. Stick to the real pride building sports like rowing and women's cross country.
Simple things like protecting the ball are fundmentals not exhibited by a large number of post DP teams. Barriers to entry intothe school, lack of attractive majors to athletes have by and large been addressed. Sothe real issue is getting the right coachtobuild a real football team and show 100% support to that coach. Otherwise, drop to DIII and make it a club sport. It is sofrustrating to watch the product on the field and know that there is a way to play much better, intense and attention to detail football. But we don't do it (and that happens to be the current coaching staff's responsibility).
Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programIs Dickerson wrong? Have we truly made the commitment to become a bona fide program? Is "upper leadership" truly a problem? Seems to me to be a healthy conversation. Tough love.
I want everyone's opinions, but I'm particularly interested in Stallion's take.

Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programI didn't realize Dickerson was even involved with athletics at SMU since his part in getting them the death penalty! Do you really want a guy like that speaking for the university? Or is he not involved and just acting on his own with an opinion just like any other person, albeit one who could run fast. Is he an SMU graduate?
Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programThis hire will tell us everything we need to know about SMU's commitment to make football mainstream.
Re: ESPN Front Page: Dickerson says kill programespns miss management is going to kill them, we will laugh last, bwahaha
The ncaa is a R.I.C.O.
