Jerry Gray

Postby leopold » Fri Sep 12, 2014 10:19 am

I've posted his name before, and while he isn't quite my first choice in HC candidates I think he deserves a look.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_Gray

From Texas.
Began coaching career at SMU.
Was AHC at Texas.
Currently with the Minnesota Vikings.
Says here his son has played for SMU.
Wants a HC job, would be VERY hungry.

LIke I said, not a high profile candidate, but I wish they'd take a look at him.

Looks like a DC candidate.

I don't know how long the Vikes season will be but would think that his obligations there would keep him from being considered for SMU. I think we need people who can do what they can recruiting SAP. It also seems that if he comes in from the cold and returns to Texas his destination is more likely to be Austin again, or Lubbock given his foundation and all. One thing, the WIKI says his son is a current player at SMU. Is that correct? Is he a walk-on not listed on the roster?

Quarter - whoever we get it won't be announced or final until after the season - anyone you would want is working through Dec 1, minimum
