I am a traditionalist ... but I like them. It is the times, it is was the young players like, and grabs attention. Special gear for special games. No, this does not exclude effort and performance. If you are going to show you are in it for the long haul, you intend to be relevant etc. ... it is the big things, the little things, and all things in between.

I'm not a fan at all of chrome for a lot reasons, but I am glad they did this for the players and recruits.

Some gray hairs and people that are for the status quo may not like it but glad we are progressing past those types. Alums at other schools have realized that just because they don't like it doesn't mean recruits and players don't like it.

If interested here is a good read about the importance now being placed on uniforms by college programs, a.k.a. the "Uniform Age". Changes coming to Notre Dame, other "traditional" programs..
