Nice. Great national pub.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

A sliver of hope?

"I've got to take what the R&S is and try to get it into something that works for me. That's not my personality, says Mason, who likes to run the ball."

throw in a dose of New O-Line coach and we may be on to something here!

Loud music, physical practices, hints of major changes to his precious offense.....June must be shaking his head somewhere.

I sure hope we come up with some better offense this time. We have the bodies to run the ball: Prescott looked pretty good a few times, Gresham looked dominant in that wrestling video...and hopefully that OLine coach will help get these guys ready for run block duties and not just pass protect. Run the ball and play action at last.

I would be excited to run the bar more except for the fact that this year we have negative rushing yards. It's not like we have Demarco Murray and a good line and just choose not to run. Hopefully if we get away from the R&S this will improve at least a little bit.

Running the ball is a matter of knowing your assignment and desire. If the line can block the proper target, you should get positive yards. We certainly have running backs who can run and run well. I really wouldn't mind Line and Pope in an I set.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna

We also have a QB on the roster who can open things up by running as well when he gets back to full health. Just the fact we no longer have a coach who openly admits going into games hoping to run it 18 times and throw it 60 times will make a world of difference.

SMU isn't going to run the ball successfully out of the Run N Shoot with this group especially with Kolney Cassell at QB. Hopefully, there will be some Jumbo packages and variety that will make it less of a liability.

The run blocking schemes were always set up to expect the pass to open up the run. It will be interesting to see if they change the scheme to add more pure running plays to the system.
