Rick Hart is familiar with him. I think he would be a good choice as well. He has OU's offense rolling.

Per a source, Oklahoma OC Josh Heupel is a legit candidate to be the next head coach at #SMU

I think heupel would be the least capable recruiter of all names mentioned so far

He seems to do pretty well at OU.

I would be fine with this move. Fast tempo offense that puts A LOT of points on the board. Yes please

He's an interesting name, but certainly down the list of guys it looks like we've got a chance to get at this time.

Didn't you beat Stallion up for using nearly that exact quote about seven years ago?

Josh Heupel = White Flag. Is this rumor a joke? This guy brings nothing to the table and certainly not up to the challenge.

I think Heupel recruits the Dallas area for OU.

Wrong, EJ had the out before I posted this thread. He is where I got the name from. I should have posted the tweet. Fixed it.

remember now its more important to know how well a Head Coach could put together the right staff, define the program's expectations, broadly set the recruiting tempo and coordinate the staff than it is how well a Head Coach can recruit-a Head Coach is severely restricted in recruiting. Sometime we lump all that into 1 and call it "Recruiting". Example: I love what the UCLA Coach Mora did with his staff although he had ZERO recruiting experience. He got about 4 guys that grew up in Los Angeles and the rest all had PAC12 experience. If I had one question to contribute to the search committee that would be it. Later in the search we should start a thread which candidate would accomplish that goal the best. Probably Brown but Morris and Beatty are certainly well connected too. Graham obviously did a great job too at Rice and Tulsa because he's got assistants all over the country doing a great job-Graham though found the young coaches BEFORE they were known. Ron Meyer did too-and about 8 of them went onto long careers mostly NFL but also college

Thing is Chad Morris' contract won't let him leave Clemson for another OC job, only HC. We could technically get Morris and Beaty since it would be a promotion for both. I think we could pull Morris in for 3M and Beaty for OC for about 800K.
