ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air Raidhttp://espn.go.com/espn/feature/story/_ ... -hal-mumme
An interesting little article about the former SMU coach Hal Mumme and his offensive scheme. “Football combines two of the worst things in American life. It is violence punctuated by committee meetings.†― George F. Will
Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air RaidWish he were still here. A co-worker and I were JUST talking about this yesterday and he sent me the article. Couldn't find any mention of SMU though. GG broke all of SMU's passing records while Mumme was here.
Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air Raidwhy did mumme leave?
Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air Raid

NAIA actually, and he has done his best work in the lower divisions. They who would give up an essential liberty for temporary security, deserve neither liberty or security

Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air Raidhas everyone gone mad. naia. i could coach at that level.
Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air RaidHal has them 2-1 coming off a 4pt road loss to the #4 team in NAIA. Belhaven was 3-8 last year.
Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air Raid
Mumme was responsible for us having the quicker, horizontal passing attack at the beginning of the year. After our struggles running the ball, June started going more vertical and it opened up the field. June took the playcalling back before the Rutgers game...
Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air RaidThe announcers were saying during the UCF game that June told them that Mumme called the first 30 to 40 plays and then June would call the rest of the game.

Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air RaidBelhaven is actually D-3 and Conner Preston is one of his QB's. Saw them play Texas College.
Re: ESPN Article of Hal Mumme's Air Raid
I thought Preston had some kind of career ending injury?
