First half silver liningsoffensive line is playing much better. Though not holding blocks long, they are getting pads on defenders (unlike Baylor) and qbs can step ibto throws half of the time. Anddd

Re: First half silver liningsI'm concerned that Mack is watching in the studio and thinking I'm not getting anywhere near that mess.

Re: First half silver liningsLooks to me like our offense DOMINATED in the first half given the time of possession!
Re: First half silver liningsBrown is finished coaching. There is a better chance of mason getting hired and I'd say hes sitting pretty at less than 1%
Re: First half silver linings
My memory may be off, but I recall mack severely underachieving at texas the last 5 years he was there despite excellent recruiting. Were their meeting rooms not big enough?
Re: First half silver linings
Perhaps, except what is considered underperforming there is still far better tham his predecessor. It's underachieving only because he had them as one of the top teams in all college football for a decade. Plus two previous stops of vastly improving horrible programs at non-football powers. Meanwhile, Mason has no HC experience, has been a mid grade DC at low level schools, and didn't do anything amazing at SMU on field or in recruiting "I think Couchem is right."

Re: First half silver liningsWhat is underperforming? Let's see.the records:
![]() ![]() Not too bad. Compare to the two previous coaches at UT: ![]() ![]() But can he do it at other places? How did Mack Brown do before UT? ![]() ![]() Now there is a real question at his age of motivation or desire. But to throw out his last few years at UT as a reason.... I'll take underperforming with 8 wins in the Big 12 for a while! "I think Couchem is right."

Re: First half silver liningsif you would take old lazy mack over any young hard charging oath you are a total idiot. We've seen this movie. we know how it ends.
Re: First half silver liningsWell to be fair, it can't get worse than right now. The question is do you want a quick fix with brown or some one who can actually take this program somewhere? I see this as similar to everyone being satisfied with the toilet bowl every year because of 25 years of terrible football before.
And I was referencing underachieving relative to the rankings of his recruiting classes. I didn't look them up, so I may be incorrect but that was my impression, and what I believed to be the shared impression of ut football
