So much promise at that point...I still can't believe so many people bought into the JJ bull [deleted] for so many years after that....it was so clear that he completely checked out after 2011.

As in so many other aspects of life, with coaches past performance is no guarantee of future results.

don't be stupid. We are among the bottom ten and they are in the top five. what did you expect.

we haven't recruited for 4 years. What did you expect?

The right leadership fixes this in two years.

It really is an interesting psychological study how do many get sucked into faith and mythology about the coach instead of viewing it with logic and rationally examining performance.

you can judge a coach by his recruiting success every year. If we are averaging 3.5 stars all is well. If it is 2.5 (or below) than all is not well.

Or, how some fans feel the need to defend and support the individual based on a past positive even when he clearly is doing nothing to deserve the support anymore.

Anyone supporting JJ as coach after 2012 (arguably 2011) is complicit in the mess that was out there today.

45- 10? Is this from an alternate universe where SMU wins a game this season?

Why is it difficult to understand how people appreciated the coach when the
program improved and do not appreciate the coach when the program regresses?

The thing is that many people still "appreciated" June even when this program started to regress. They were distracted by June's mythology and didn't see that he was slowly destroying the program.

Exactly. The June-lover crew were so wrapped up in calling us ungrateful that they couldn't see what the rest of us saw, that we were headed into the dump
