Blue Helmets?

Checking out College Football Final this morning. We are mentioned in the "blowouts" segment. And a corps guy gets lots of props for saving Reveille from certain demise.
More importantly I noticed there is a SMU helmet lined up.
a) why is our helmet even in studio? I was very excited to see it on the second row nonetheless
