To those who think we are at a HS level

...I honestly wonder if you're being serious or not.

There is no way any HS team could beat us. Generally, HS programs only have a handful of kid's play at a higher level after HS.

I equate it to those who believe the best college team could beat the worst NFL team. It's a ridiculous argument.

No matter how well-versed in a given system, they are still just a HS team.

We may not beat them by much, but we would beat them.

Haha. I haven't been reading much today, but surely no one is making that ridiculous argument.

a lot of people are throwing it out there. just wondering if they are over-exaggerating or really believe that.

I would think it would be more of a D1AA comparison since Lamar had better stats against A&M than SMU.

The last 2 lines of your post are the only ones that matter. Would we beat them? Yes. Would it be close...maybe.
Take that argument to the next level, and put the Jaguars against FSU or Alabama. Wouldn't be close...at all.
That is the point..not that we would lose to a HS team (and your statement wasn't exceptionally confident in that), but that it would be a game. That is an absolute joke and a perfect example of how far we have to go. Heck, look at the size of our linemen vs. their opposition so far.

no, I'm 100% certain we would win. just didn't see the need to yell it.

and that is the only thing i was saying in this thread. plenty of others to discuss where we are vs where we should be.

Check how many of our players had D-1 offers of any substance

It is like those that say Kentucky could beat an NBA team. Kentucky has a few top draft choices. NBA teams have all top draft choices. No contest, and there would be no contest in our case either.

Well, let's not find out. Let's not schedule the Rappahannock School for Girls.

College talent is fairly evenly spread between professional teams. High school talent is incredibly unevenly spread between college teams, with our team pretty devoid of it. If you took a good high school team with a #1 RB or mobile QB, I think there is no way we'd stop them. I don't think this is the same argument of college vs nfl because the professional leagues are constructed so much differently

I'll point out to you "The College All Star Game", which played every summer in Chicago at Soldier's Field. It pitted the reigning Super Bowl Champs against that year's college graduate all stars. I attended it in 1975, when one Walter Payton from Jacksonville State, ran all over the Pittsburgh Steelers. The College All Stars did lose the game, 24 - 14, with the pros having to come from behind in the last 4 minutes of the game, to save their reputation. But it showed a group of college boys could compete with the pros if they put their minds and tallents to it.

I can't imagine our offense being able to do anything against anyone. Our D, maybe, but they couldn't get off the field thanks to our O

we have a lot of guys on the roster who are FCS level talent and if young enough, they might go on to have very nice careers at FCS schools after the new coaching staff comes in to recruit over them. I agree there is no way any H.S. team beats us but the way we are playing right now, plenty of FCS teams would whip us
