Interesting. I still won't be surprised if quite a few are "number one on the list" until November though.

I guess it's not surprising to see an OU guy at the top of the list though.

I believe he already recruits Texas for OU. So he might actually train SMU how to recruit Texas.

I have mixed feelings on Heupel.

Pros:
He has successfully recruited some high caliber QBs
He seems to be well regarded among young assistants
Bob Stoops disciple
Values a running game

Cons:
No HC experience and no full OC experience (he is Co-OC at Oklahoma)
Recruiting list seems shallow, he has credit for some quality players but only 1-2 per year. Not sure if this is typical for his position or not.

Ha! Maybe so, but they already do a pretty good job of recruiting Texas now.

What happened to Chad Morris?

Sumlin and Kevin Wilson were co-OCs at OU five years ago.

My buddy who is a big OU fan said that most of the fanbase isn't very high on Heupel, but that OU fans are pretty critical. Said he has shown the ability to recruit in Texas/Oklahoma.
