Players with Potential for the New Coach

We need to drastically upgrade the overall talent when the new coach comes in. However, there are a handful of players who I think have shown promise and can be productive for the new coach. Many of them are young and really have no business playing yet, but thrown into the fire bc of lack of overall talent on this squad. Players I see with good potential:

Zelt Minor
Mason Gentry (I think he is going to be a really really good player)
Nick Horton
Horace Richardson
Evan Brown
Courtland Sutton
Shelby Walker

Zelt seems to have found his way back to the bench courtesy of Mason Gentry. If this staff won't even play Zelt wouldn't be surprised if he transfers. Kid supposedly has the talent so what's the problem?

Did you see that magic trick he pulled to save a blocked punt and also run for the first down? Really heads up play.

SMU is actually ranked 15th in the country for punting.

Hopefully Gaines will be used correctly by the new staff in a H back role.

I was more referring to younger players with potential, Joseph being a Jr will only have 1 year playing for the new staff, but agree he's solid.

Is he hurt? because nevermind starting, I didn't even see him in the rotation yesterday. Mason was the one with great things to say about him and said he would be a starter when he was DC.

Zelt got hurt and was in one of those medical boots after the UNT game.

He hits some of the ugliest punts - but except for the long one, the seem to keep returns to a minimum.

The pulling the ball down was excellent. More punter should be that aware. If you can tell your kick is going to get blocked don't kick it - pull it down then kick or run.
