The quake's epicenter was in Irving. About an hour ago.

I'm sure that has an effect on natural disasters. Good thinking

I now officially live in Texas. I think that's what happened. I'm kind of a big deal.

It gives me even more pleasure to vote for Wendy now that I know you disapprove. Thanks!

We had 85-90 mph straight line winds in UP. I've never seen anything like that and picked a bad day to drive the ragtop convertible. We've still got no power at the house.

Here's Oncor's statement:

The powerful storms that blew through the North Texas area have caused more than 250k power outages. Our crews are working as quickly and as safely as they can to restore power to our customers.

This is one of the largest storms in Oncor's history. It will be at least in the top 20 largest storms. The storm was fierce and extremely large, covering nearly the entire DFW area.

Early reports are that there were damaging winds up to 90 mph across N. Texas.

That's analogous to the top end of a Cat 1 hurricane.

Good thing it only lasted about 20-30 minutes, instead of 14-15 hours...
