There's a fair amount of irony in the last job on the list

Just wanted to share some info from a conversation that I had this past weekend with someone that is very involved with the Texas program regarding Chad Morris. Apparently Charlie Strong really wants Morris as an OC and they're prepared to make an offer with similar pay. Dunno if it's something that he'd consider, but take it for what it's worth.

His contract at clemson does permit for him to leave for HC but not OC.

This is just what I was told, there is a buyout for his contract as well.

Morris seems like a great choice for the Ponys. If the right people are interested in him at SMU I would imagine they could make the OC job very expensive.

Interesting that Charlie Strong would be ready to replace his OC after one year.

Alabama will be needing a new OC to reverse the Kiffen curse.

Morris is the clear #1 target if we are able to garner his interest. Will he want to take over at a place like SMU and be the head coach or is he willing to take a few more years padding his resume at Clemson or Texas or Bama, etc. I don't think anyone knows yet.

I will say this. I am extremely encouraged by the early interest in this job. Compared to what we were dealing with the last time we went through this I'd say the general vibe around the program is night and day.

Morris does not run the type of offense that Saban likes. Saban is more of an I formation type offense and Morris is a spread guy.
