and Gurley is a genius. Heisman contender, Top 10 draft pick, ranked team, knows full well the Johnny Football autograph fiasco, and he can't wait a few months to get the extra dough? Shouldn't be long before somebody trots out the poor college athlete with no food excuse.

UGA will not miss him. They are loaded with NFL caliber tailbacks. Chubb might be equal to Gurley as a true freshman.

Wonder if he get suspended the same amount of time as Johnny Football got if guilty. He may not be financially able to lawyer up like Johnny Football was. But of course he has not been found guilty of anything yet so I am sure we would want to wait until due process has taken place before condemning the young man.

Didn't Johnny have to sit out the whole first half against Rice. That was awfully tough. Guessing Gurley will get it worse than Johnny.

In all fairness we don't know much about the case and Johnny's happened in the off season so it was settled before the season started.

Also heard, not sure if true, that they guy who turned Gurley in is the same guy that paid him for his autographs. Didn't want his name to be released as he lives in Georgia. If true, I think he might need to move.

If that's true, that is some serious scumbaggery; first get the kid to sign stuff and then turn him in for it? Clearly Gurley is no genius and should have known better (he isn't without some fault), but on the other hand, wow. That's a special kind of jerk that does that sort of thing to a kid.

And upon further reflection, that fine, upstanding individual should probably get a job offer from the NCAA... He has shown all the qualification for working there.

Heard that on the DP Show. Again, not sure about the validity but if true that is a pure scumbag.

I don't know about GA, but Texas has a criminal law on the books for people who do things that harm students eligibility. So in the Johnny Paycheck case, there was incentive for the autograph brokers not to speak with the NCAA. It would have opened them up to potential criminal prosecution. I don't think there will be the same restrictions in GA.

i would tell Gurley to follow Paycheck's lead. Lawyer up! Have that guy stonewall the NCAA. The problem will go away in 3 or 4 weeks. If that guy speaks to the NCAA, leak his name to the media and let the die hard GA fans deal with him.

Letters of authenticity were issued. All it takes is for one of them to become public and the cover is off. You either have a fraudulent dealer or a kid selling autographs. Not hard to get caught

I was under the impression that the law was broader than just agents. I think it was put in place to stop boosters after all of the scandals from the '80s & '90s.

I think the guys lives in GA but is a Gator fan. Double scumbag. UGA and UF ought to be punished.
