Overheard two clowns this morning at swim lessons talking SMU football. At least one was an alum. Discussed how they read the Dickerson comments recently about how Jones had no support and the administration prevents winning. He won't be spending his money on donations, tickets, etc.
Dickerson did us plenty of damage. Great athlete, probably means well, not too bright.

Guess him coming to town this week to talk to Hart, the coaches and players doesn't mean anything

Yes I know, but talking to the team and a couple supporters is insignificant compared to his trashing of SMU in the national media. It is being brought up every game still. If he goes on ESPN and retracts and supports the program, that would count

I think Dickerson is hurt and frustrated. I know I'm frustrated and I'm sure most on this board are. Everyone seems to know what SMU needs to do and I imagine Eric is no different. I feel confident he wants only the best for SMU football.

When and if SMU hires the right coach and shows the sporting world we are serious, I'm sure E.D. will comment publicly. He's a great person, and although I wouldn't have said all that he's said I think he's earned the right to complain, especially given Turner's equivocal support.

But until then, Dickerson need to shut the [deleted] up.

If you think Dickerson is the one who has done the most damage to this program with public statements....wow. We are the team that is actually reviving that idiotic question of whether a HS team could beat a college team, and not in the way Jacksonville does every year for the college v. NFL question.
Turner goes out making statements about being serious about the program, acting like he wasn't a part of the past 19 years of absolute disgust. This is the same guy who spent his first 10+ years doing everything to distance the school from anything resembling a successful player from the past.
It would be nice if a few notable NFL alums statements of disagreement with the direction of the program were our biggest problem...that would be a step up.
