NCAA LawsuitBased on the recent investigation (adequate at best) into UNC academic fraud, the subsequent lawsuit by a former UNC player, the PSU scandal, the Ok State scandal, everything that never gets investigated at Florida and FSU, and everything in between, can we sue the NCAA for anything regarding the death penalty? I am 99% sure the answer is no, but there has to be some way to bring light to the process that killed us for doing the same thing the rest of the nation was doing, while basically ignoring all of these other equally or greater offenses to the "integrity" of the game. Probably been asked before, but after reading the UNC lawsuit article today, I had to ask. Seems we have a lot of lawyers with free time on here anyway!
Re: NCAA LawsuitNo-if you tried you get hit with frivolous, bad faith pleading sanctions

Re: NCAA LawsuitPA Gov. is suing regarding the issues surrounding PSU. A quick read of stories that mention the original SMU suit make it seem like the '88 suit against the NCAA on behalf of students, players, and cheerleaders was amateur hour. Sounds like we lost our chance because of a half-assed attempt. Discussions of the merits of the PSU suit have no mention of potential sanctions that could result if they are unsuccessful. Plus, with the way the NCAA is viewed currently in legal circles, the process would be undertaken in a completely different atmosphere more conducive to an honest reading of the law.
Either way....NCAA is a racket that needs to be taken-down at the knees.
Re: NCAA LawsuitIF anyone argues that the NCAA major sports system is NOT broken, PLEASE give me ONE school that has been consistently elite in the last 10 years who has NOT had SOME kind of investigation. That tells you that to succeed in the system you created, you must break the rules. And imagine all the rule breaking that goes on that isn't even investigated. Or, is it like our tax system where loopholes (legal and illegal) are intentionally created to keep a cottage industry employed?
Re: NCAA LawsuitTo heck with them. Keep building cottages!
