He could really thrive as a QB in a true spread option offense.

He should have went to a spread option school.

Maybe but he just wasted a year of eligibility for nothing.

That's what we do.

if SMU played Tulsa 12 times a year Davis would be great. A good defense with quicker defenders is going to shut it down if he can't find a receiver on 25 passing plays a game. Remember Tulsa has one of the worst secondary's in the country and he can't get the ball off in his 3rd year as a College QB

Not true, the AAC has several defenses ranked in the Top 50 in total and scoring defense.

He's not perfect, but I would argue he has more athleticism and about the same arm as Ward for Houston, and that seems to be doing okay in conference.

I don't think he is the best spread QB in the world, but he is a decent starting point.

Hopefully, whomever we have as coach and OC next year has the sense to install a flexible offense that can be tweaked based on the QB, so that several players get a shot at it, including the new recruits.

No QB would thrive behind our line. Davis did all he could to put points on the board a la JWill. Give the kid credit.

Most QB's have "some" blocking on most plays. It is hard to look downfield for open receivers when there are 2-3 defenders in your face on every play.

Better OL and a healthy offseason to work on his craft with the right coaching staff, and I could see some fireworks.

Our OL this year has been the biggest shock to me. Have great size and some were even highly recruited. Lasecki and Weeks have plenty of experience (Briggs got SOME last year). Just kind of shocked. Not sure what's going on there.

What's going on is that they are being coached by a old left over Hawaiian running backs coach
