We certainly have plenty of opportunities to return kickoffs.

I was expecting to read that he set the record for most KR's of less than 10 yards.

It was almost inevitable to happen because of all the points we allow but good for him.

Let me get this straight....you are dogging on the only player that gives this team a spark? Nice. Deon Jr. is way better than anything else the coaches trotted back there to return kicks.

Great stats but he also cost us about -250 yards this year on Kickoff returns. Yes dogging him.

Well, we did have 10 kickoff returns, but 203 is still a nice number I guess.

1) Yes.
2) His average (20 yards) isn't horrible, but we started at the 3, 15, and 6 because of poor KRs. In a world where everyone brings it back to the 20, we struggle to get past the 15.
3) Our Special Teams may be worse than our offense.

This is a record that should be listed right along with the most punts in a season that was set a few years ago. And that is not dogging him. This was not a record of long returns although he had one good one. This was a record of having too many returns and one of them being long.

I was surprised they publicized it, actually.

But, with the dearth of any even mildly good news this season you can't really blame them.

starting drives at the 3, 15, and 6 is disastrous and results in points on the board against you. Has happened all year long starting with first kick of the season. I guarantee you he is among the worst one season historic leaders in kickoffs which the returner failed to reach the 15

Why all the deion hate? Unbelievable to me. Jeez. Sure he sucked early in the year but it seems like every game now he's breaking returns.

for some reason he's not listed in the NCAA Individual statistics but based on the numbers on smumustangs.com he would rank about 90th out of 105 of the Kickoff returners with sufficient returners to qualify. Hardly superlative-not close to average. SMU as a team gets almost 6 yards less per kickoff in comparison to their opponents

I don't hate Deion Jr.

While he has gotten better, the overall record is horrible.

He might actually be a good return man if the next special teams coach has any clue, and the ability to 'coach him up.'

Start with some type of rules for returning kicks out of the end zone. If it's beyond 'x' yards deep, take a damn knee! Right now it just seems Jr. has carte blanche and does whatever he wants, including way too many returns from the back of the end zone that put our offense in horrible position.

As bad as this staff is, Baracio-Leon might be the worst. Another running joke in the locker room.
