And yes, I give thanks that we have SMU football. This team and all teams before and to come.

I give thanks because I remember when SMU football was threatened. Not with the DP, but with extermination by the SMU administration. Many SMU alumni, both rich and poor, joined the effort to stop the elimination f SMU football and were successful. Thus, on this Thanksgiving weekend, instead of celebrating the holiday with a women's soccer contest, we will have football on the campus.

Go Mustangs and once again, Happy Thanksgiving.

I give thanks to knowing that there is hope.

I give thanks for PonyFans and for the moderators who give so much of their time and resources.

Looking back at our lack of success does not make me feel thankful for football. Maybe that $120,000,000 in lost revenues could have been spent more productively. That money would have bought one hell of a basketball coach.

I am thankful for women's soccer too.

But, yeah, I am very thankful to have the chance to watch SMU football with thousands of other SMU fans this weekend.
