Nightmare scenarioFor the SEC. After tonight they may end up without anyone in the top 4. They are devouring each other.
All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Nightmare scenario
the committee is discussing going to 8 teams to fix the problem. Worse: TCU and Baylor could make the Top 4!! Do unto others before they do unto you!!
Nightmare scenarioNo problem NCAA will fix that

Re: Nightmare scenario
I projected this long ago and was laughed at. The model of the SEC in theory does not help them in the long run.
Re: Nightmare scenarioI brought it up long ago also. Everyone was talking 2 teams, but all the good teams are in the west and play each other.

Re: Nightmare scenarioHard for me to imagine the SEC champ not being one of the final 4...unless Missou can upset Bama in which case Missou's loss to Indiana comes up big. Would the committee still favor Bama over a team that beat them in their title game? if so, then TCU could be in over Baylor. I guess all these wacky scenarios are what keeps college football so popular
Re: Nightmare scenarioThe idea that the historical Nursing/Cow College from Fort Worth may have a shot at the
NC is very depressing.
Re: Nightmare scenario
Silver lining is that it proves a medium sized private school from DFW can be successful.

That would be a good scenario for the arrogant SEC. "We will play man to man and we will pick you up at the airport." - Larry Brown

Re: Nightmare scenario
Intra-SEC matchups didn't help them today, but really it was the ACC that devoured the SEC today with Clemson>South Carolina, FSU>Florida, Louisville>Kentucky, and Georgia Tech>Georgia. SEC homers rightly point out those are all SEC East teams, but which exactly are the signature SEC West OOC wins that justify them being regarded as the best division in the history of college football?
Re: Nightmare scenario
Stop! They're text book rivals and will be. Fact is they're band-aid members of the b12. Perhaps they develop an inter-conference rivalry with Baylor, but both TCU and Baylor have to be concerned about the expiring GoR. If SMU gets to be where they need to be, it will be both foolish and arrogant for TCU to shun an important historic rivalry to the east. Pony up!
