The Anti-June

Postby ALEX LIFESON » Mon Dec 01, 2014 6:57 pm

Chad walked up to the podium in cowboy boots and said...are you excited? He talked about Whataburger, the greatness of SMU, Mustang history,Texas, Dallas, Texas High School football, he did the pony ears several times, his family wore red and blue, he had east Texas slang and charm he wants to be here, he will be proud to sell SMU and we will be proud he's our coach.

I'm a really hard sell but I would buy a used car from this guy. I have a feeling that he will be a good recruiter and that he can sell his program to the players once they get here. Believing in the system is a huge part of success by any team. Now let's just be patient, show up at the games, and cheer.

You are right that it is time to stand up and be counted again; however, with the dismal plight of this talent challenged team whereby patience for at least 4 years is necessary. Unfortunately, we just wasted away 7 valuable years with the failed JJ experiment. Now we have hope, but reality must prevail.

Ford Stadium is the perfect size and facility and location for Texas High School playoffs-but we need to put out the Welcome Mat.

That is a big part of why I like this hire...he gets it. I think he understands the disappointment of the death penalty and everything that happened after it. He knows our history and that is really important.

He knows the drill and the relations. I'm sure it will open up - especially with camps. Probably much more welcoming than it sounded like our previous staff..

Then go to the South Lake Carroll Cedar Hill game next Saturday :!:

Saw my Longview Lobos kick the longest field goal in Ford Stadium history against Denton Guyer
about 3 years ago in a state semi-final :!:

except I think SMU is limited by University Park zoning on annual events held. they've held some classic games though at Ford but the reviews from visitors was often mediocre
