Meaning not a done deal.

Really like Cowlishaw and Mosley. I have never been crazy about Fitzsimmons and Friedo.

Man Morris moving on the media (Dallas and Carolina), coaching staff, high school PR and recruiting all at the same time. Quite impressive. You know he's going to end up with a very respectable class this year. This December 1 start was essential

Brief highlights

- Hosts called him the savior of SMU football. Literally couldn't believe that Chad Morris is here at SMU.

- Morris reiterated that SMU is a terrific fit for him w/ his Texas hs coaching history. Said that if this opportunity were not in Texas then he'd probably still be at Clemson.

- SMU is sitting on a recruiting goldmine. He and his staff will make recruiting Dallas priority number one.

- Host asked if this hire was SMU's way of getting the Big 12's attention Morris just said that SMU "wouldn't back down or play second fiddle to anybody regardless of conference affiliation."

Thx. I especially like his last point. SMU fans have been craving this kind of attitude since the breakup of the SWC. So much for playing with have nots in a spring league.

One suspects he has been planning for this moment (not SMU specific, but HC) for 2+ years now.

Has probably been planning for SMU specifically for the past 2+ months.

It shows and we are going to benefit from it.

it's almost like he's happy to be here. really weird. i thought coaches were supposed to act like they were doing you a favor by gracing you with their presence
