HC Chad Morris - Productivity Killer

As much as I love this hire, it is killing my work ethic. I went to the press conference yesterday, and cannot get back to work. Tracking the responses from our fans, sportswriters, HS coaches, and HS player, as well as our coaches is a full time job. As much as HCCM said he is a kid in a candy store, for the long suffering SMU football fan, we are to. Now lets get that Natatorium built.

Treadway, I share your concern about productivity loss. LOL.
And, I love the shout out for a new Natatorium. We are half way to funding it (despite it being a big number). My sense is "a rising tide raises all boats." Non-revenue sports could be energized by all this positive emotion associated with Coach Morris coming to the Hilltop. Donations, season tickets for all sports and Mustang Club memberships will rise.

Most relevant post of the last few days. I was thinking of posting the same thing. This has put me behind schedule on everything!

But, I'll take it.

No kidding, but thankfully where I work (software company) its been a really quiet work week. We are way ahead of schedule so there's a bit of time to peruse these boards

Because my son had ear surgery today, I am home surfing the net.

I was going to create a similar post last night. I share the same childish zeal as the coaches and walk around with a dumb grin on my face.

That is why I threw that in. I was a soccer player, and when we got the death penalty, I knew out non rev sports was in trouble and I was right.
I was at SMU during the golden era of SMU sports. SMU football and Basketball were both top 10. Also, at that time we had a top soccer team, top women's tennis team, top men's tennis team, men and women swimming was top ten, and of course we had a excellent men and women's track team. I believe the success of our rev sports drove the success in non rev sports. there was an esprit de corps among the teams that was awesome to be a part of.
Now look at our non rev - many still good, but not as good as they should be and not as consistent as they should be.
I firmly believe that the improvement in basketball and now football will change the fortunes for our non rev sports for the better. Can't wait for the momentum to start rolling to all sports.

This hire could not come at a worse time for me from a work ethic standpoint. This is my busiest time of year and this has killed my productivity the last two days.

Last time my productivity was killed this way was when we were heading to the Big East

I recently retired. So, I have plenty of time to watch as this unfolds. I can't remember a time when there was so much happening at once.

How about the LB hire and the Mudiay announcement - both those were time sinks.
Funny - Stallion is acting like Hoopmanx when LB got hired. Its pretty hard to satisfy those two and somehow SMU managed to do it. Times really have changed.
