Life is finally looking up again for SMU football, but we do unfortunately still have one game left to play this week. ESPN's "Bottom 10" has granted us the dubious honor of "Pillow Fight of the Week of the Year" for our upcoming game against Connecticut. I only mention this because I found the commentary about the upcoming game amusing... (Although I might not be laughing if I didn't have so much else to smile about this week.)

The last thing I believe we should ever condone is belittling/embarrassing our outgoing senior who have done everything asked of them and have worked their tails off for this team. I am appreciative of their efforts and sad to see them go out on this less then stellar season and with very little attention. While others may disagree, this team had/has the talent to of achieve so much more. Thank you boys...good luck this weekend!

Certainly appreciate their efforts and wish them well. Hope they continue to come to games.

Seriously, drop it. Looking rationally at our performance and where we stack up is not the same as belittling or embarrassing anyone.

Completely agree. Those guys also had a lot of success early and adversity late. They will be better for the experience.

We do have talent and with the player additions generated by this staff, the reserves are headed to the breach. Next season is going to be a lot more fun for everybody.

Hope the team gets a win Saturday for both the coaches and players (and for us fans that don't want to see an o-for season).

I hope they can pull off a win in Hartford. From what I'm seeing the weather is not going to cooperate. Cold and wet. So, the guys really need to lace them up and go for it.

So who is actually on the field playing again? None of us (or the coaches) can actually jump on the field and run/tackle/catch/throw/block. So it's ALWAYS on the players since no one else actually plays. Coaching helps no doubt (and the supporting admin/services are very important) but the bottom line is that your players have to better than their players.

Totally confused here. Was there something we we're suppose to draw from that statement. Sounded like you were suggesting that coaching this year had little to do with the lack of success this team has had. I simply suggested that these departing senior boys were deserving of our support as it is I'm sure disappointing for them to end their football experience at smu this note. No need to take yet another opportunity to kick these guys.

Those who make fun of the downtrodden aren't very funny in my book. He probably laughs at the homeless and disabled too.

Wish the team and especially the seniors the best. They have fought through a lot of adversity and stuck with it - unlike their HC who ran to the islands when the going started looking tough.

I have somewhat a sense of humor, but I am tired of this crap too.

Really sad part for me is I am an alum of UConn with a daughter at SMU. No where to go but up for both programs. SMU's future certainly looks brighter!

I hope we can win tomorrow to start on the right foot for next year!!
