WMU was 1-11 last year. Coach said before the season they could start as many as 14 true freshmen in 2014:

HCCM will be able to sell quality recruits on the ability to stay close to home and get on the field ASAP if they earn it in practice. Cant wait for September to get here.

I am not sure how or if the linked article relates to SMU. The article suggested that a lot of true freshmen would start but the Western depth chart shows four although the two deep (including ST and a few spares) lists twenty-one freshmen including five redshirts among fifty-nine players. The touted freshman QB is third string. Perhaps he got hurt although I wonder if he played at all. At least one of freshman RBs is on roster but not the chart.
Maybe the most interesting thing in the article is that Western, under second year coach Fleck, had sixteen three star players among the incoming players. "double the number signed by any other MAC school," and that is certainly something that would be noteworthy for SMU in HCCM's first year although the new staff is starting late.
Western Coach Fleck was selected COY for the MAC and that certainly seems possible for Coach Morris next season or in 2016.
Coach Fleck is also mentioned ICW the Michigan job. Not to wish him bad luck, but I hope the biggies will leave Chad Morris alone for a few years!
How many 2014 freshman DID NOT play might contribute next season? I suppose Gresham might someday be granted an extra year because of injury but that's down the road.

So Fleck went 1-11 his first year and 8-4 his second year, seems like we should be headed for a big turnaround in 2016 not 2015.
