This was the best hook I've read in the media yet. The boy has got po-tential

"Chad Morris has Texas in his blood. June Jones has pineapple in his blood. There’s no changing who they are, and Jones didn’t have a “Texas state of mind.” "

(Editor's note: Nate's column this week centered on his view of the hiring of Chad Morris as SMU's next head coach … but he wouldn't let the final game of the year go by without offering his prediction. The following is his late addition to his column.)

There is a football game to be played this Saturday in Connecticut. SMU looks to avoid its first winless season since 2003. Connecticut comes in with a record of 2-9, and 1-6 in conference. Both are in rebuilding — UConn under former Notre Dame defensive coordinator Bob Diaco, and SMU will start new next season with a new coach for next year Chad Morris. It was fun, (well maybe not at times) to watch this SMU team get better all year, but unfortunately the young Mustangs will get better all year and not win a game in 2014.
Nate’s Take: Connecticut 31, SMU 21
