I am ready to see Alabama, FSU, and Ohio St. all lose their conference championship games and let the committee figure this mess out

That would just be amazing to try to figure that mess out.

Greeney just ripped the playoff selection committee on Mike and Mike this morning - fundamentally makes no sense to have TCU above Baylor when Baylor won the head-to-head.

He is spot on. Talked about "what is the purpose of sport if the results aren't decided on the field." Loved his analogy " Everyone agrees that the Patriots were a better team than the Giants in Superbowl XLII, and that the Patriots would have won the majority of games against the Giants if they played 10 times...but the Giants won the game...we didn't then hand the trophy to the Patriots because we thought they were the better team...we gave the Lombardi trophy to the Giants because THEY WON THE GAME!"

That is the best thing about sports, anybody can win on any given day.

I have to admit... our new coach and the recruiting news is taking quite a bit of the sting away that TCU is going to get to play for a national title.

I hope Baylor just loses this weekend. Maybe I know too many Baylor people, but I'm tired of hearing it.

Although, I'd be happy if anyone/everyone in the Top 6 lost this weekend.

If he watched Baylor and TCU play much, he would know that TCU is the better team. If he watched the game between them, he would know that Baylor stayed in the game after they got a couple of "home field" calls and that they won the game after a very questionable call. On a neutral field, TCU beats Baylor 8 out of 10 times. Why? TCU has a better defense.

I hate TCU, but facts are facts. ESPN and the East Coast media are really angling to get Ohio State into the Top 4 because they are a "name" program. On a neutral field, Baylor and TCU run up the score on Ohio State more than 1/2 the time.

If you watched the TCU/WV game you know WV turned the ball over 5 times deep in their own territory and TCU barely escaped with a last second win. If you watched the TCU Kansas game you know TCU was very lucky to escape with a win. Something different can happen in any game at any time to change the outcome. THAT is what makes head to head so important. That and the fact that is how winners are decided in football.

Also TCU got some referee help early I'm that Baylor game. Specifically on a fumble and some other penalties.

I think the major difference between #1-#4 and #5-#6 is the absence of a bad loss. Given the importance of this weekend's games I think everything may end up sorting itself out. Fascinating to discuss though.

You say facts are facts but then completely give your opinion about East Coast Media and your opinion that TCU is better than Baylor. Those aren't facts. The fact here is that Baylor beat TCU. I think a better argument for TCU would that their loss to a Baylor team was a better loss than Baylor's loss to a WVU team. Again, that's an opinion though and head to head should hold more weight...in my opinion.

So on the field results do not matter? IF they got a call, IF they didn't turn the ball over, IF they played 10 times they would win X. None of that matters the scoreboard tells me who ultimately won and loss. I don't need a committee to override what I've seen on the field. Regardless of who I think is the better team. If that's the case there are several people out there that would argue that it's Oregon and 3 teams from the SEC West that should be in.

And they do not need to play because someone can just decide who is the best.
