Out of curiosity, what happens to the GA Coaches in a regime change? I would imagine that the new staff would want to groom their own, so do they automatically lose their jobs as well? Do they get to finish the academic year or do they lose tuition assistance at the end of this semester? Are their contracts semester to semester? Anyone know?

No they are gone too.

GAs are essentially temporary "coaches"/trainers/etc anyway.

Most GA contracts are for a max of 2 years and the only compensation is tuition and living expenses... in other words, it's a way for a former athlete/aspiring coach to get their graduate degree for free while building up some experience as a coach or trainer.
