Now Silence is an offense for our former Sports heroes...

I note the resident "East Coast" demagogue has taken up the "silence means you are guilty" slander against one our more famous sports heroes. I am reminded of the same tactics used by Henry XIII in his persecution of Sir Thomas More, and the intellectual dishonesty.
Before you judge a man, you better damn well know him. But then, that's not possible when you try to read guilt into his silence.
The man has made a decision to remain silent. Let us respect this.
