We could end up with a weaker schedule because of it which would hurt recruiting.

If we start winning we will as many P5 OOC games as we want.

We get in the tile 3 of the AAC and we are a good, winnable game for a quality P5 program.

I saw a recent interview with Chad where he praised Briles and Patterson for scheduling winnable games which created a winning atmosphere that could be built on. So, I think Chad wants to schedule some easier wins the first few years which means if BU or TCU call offering a buyout then I bet we would accept.

actually the reverse. recruits want to win and go to fun bowls. Easing the schedule helps that. THen we can grow our own fan base instead of borrowing everyone else's.

Good recruits definitely want to play against the better teams. But there are plenty of non P5 teams who pack their OOC schedules with P5. The competition for those match ups will be greater, and I would rather play an old SWC rival than anyone else as far as fan and recruit interest is concerned.

However, I believe that the playoff concept is going to an 8 team tournament and that could encourage some of the P5 to schedule wins instead of quality losses. That puts us back on their radars.
