Really? it takes this long to land a RB Coach?

My understanding is that the plan is to add Mathis to the staff, but nothing is known until an official announcement (I know … always eloquent and insightful!)

The HR process can, at times, move along at a good clip, but at other times, the process can move with glacial speed.

Per the DMN, Morris sounds optimistic about adding Mathis:

“Things are looking really good [and] we’ll see how things unfold over the next few days.”

I watched them play Cedar Hill this season and he is high octane. I like his passion.

I have seen 2-3 Desoto games each season since he has been at the school. Needs to stay at Desoto. He is a perfect fit there. Successful high school coach.

Coached against Claude last year. He has done a phenomenal job at Desoto, and he would be a great recruiter for us because he has a ton of credibility in the greater South Dallas area. However, I am also a bit concerned. He is notorious for his sideline antics. Some call it passion. Some call it lack of class. I've coached high school football for 12 years, and I don't know if I can remember a sideline as vulgar and rough as his was last year. I certainly have mixed feelings about the hire.
