Sorry if this has been posted, but I didn't see it.
Hopefully it is just unsubstantiated rumor stuff, but here it is:

Could be wrong, but I think it's just a wishful thinking story coming out of a Nashville media outlet. No way Memphis brings value.

IMO, we need all hands on deck: Hart, Turner, BOT members and our big money donors using whatever influence they have to get us into the Big 12. If it would help, hire Mack Brown and whoever else for invented positions that could exert political influence to get it done.

It is the Hartford Currant (i.e., UCONN) and they don't wish for this...

I still maintain that there is no way the Big 12 expands unless Texas and OU get screwed out of a playoff spot. If that happens then yes they'll explore expansion. They could care less if BU and TCU get left out.

yes, I think the Big12 is actually happy TCU and Baylor got left out. They want TX and OU to have all of the leverage.

Absolutely. This was the best possible outcome for UT/OU.
IMO, and I know I'm biased, the Big 12 should expand to 14 with the following:
Cincinnati
Central Florida
Houston
SMU
You lock up the top two programs in the AAC in relatively large markets with Cincy and UCF and you also lock down the state of Texas by adding SMU and Houston. They need to move Texas and OU into different divisions anyway. You could still keep it as a crossover game like the SEC does.

They still got in two of the big 6 bowls... Not much $$$$ difference.

I suspect that they would rather have Tulane, Memphis, or New Mexico than SMU in that group. All new teams would at least add a new market. We provide nothing new, unfortunately.

If Texas or OU had the resume that Baylor or TCU did, they would have been in. I don't see the B12 expanding and slicing the revenue pie more ways just because Baylor and Purple Baylor got the shaft.
Bevo runs the conference and will do whatever is best for them. Maybe Rick Hart can get Steve Patterson shitfaced and write out a B12 invitation on a napkin like Del Conte did with DeLoss

If the CFP does not go to 8 teams immediately, I think they will add more teams in 2015. This was a slap in the face to the Big 12, make no mistake about it.

8 teams is stupid. Mississippi state and michigan state in no way shape or form deserve to play for the championship

Absolutely zero chance of New Mexico or Tulane. Please. We have virtually no shot but there is absolutely no way they roll with those two schools over SMU.
