Deion Sanders, Jr. was named to the all-conference first-team by The American today as a return specialist.

Sanders is the only SMU player to make any of the teams or honorable mention.

Must be the Baseball All-Star Rule-someone from each team has to make the All-Star team. He wasn't one of the Top returners in stats

I never understand the message board digs at guys like deion and davis. Sure deion returned some kicks out to our own 10...he also returned some 60 yards.

Our opponents did seem to kickoff quite a lot this year.

Stats speak for themselves-he finished at 90th in the Country in Kickoff Returns among 113 eligible players. We scored 0 points on drives starting from inside our 20 or was it 25 yard line which often resulted from taking the ball out of the endzone

Thought he improved a ton this year. Good for him. Hope to see another jump next year with some very good coaching.

Perhaps when other coaches watched the blocking it was a miracle that he ever got past the 20? Just a thought... if it was a baseball thing, he would have been third team.
