1. Support Chad Morris completely
(It could be rough next year).
2. Retweet and share positive news on Social Media - good news is good news.
3. Hoping and praying Larry Brown goes dancing - he deserves it and so do our players.
4. Would like to see SMU increase the size of the undergrad population by 700 students for a total of 7,000 undergrads with a goal of 8,000 in the future (larger student sections are loud and look good on TV, but only if they go to the game and stay).
5. The band, not to bad mouth them, but mandate the director to recruit and increase the band by 60 musicians (all from the metroplex so their families attend our games - attendance matters) and add a line of smokin' hot SEC style twirlers (okay that one is sexist - oh well it looks great on TV)! If he can't get it done, then hire someone who can. Require the school to provide more funding to the band (I donated money to the band hall and have never even seen it and likely won't - so don't start).
6. Encourage Rick Hart to improve the GAMEDAY presentation in Ford and work to increase our football attendance by 25% next year.
7. PonyUp the extra money to keep my football and basketball tickets (football tickets already purchased).
There are more..., but I don't want to start a war.
Okay rip me a new one - go!

Don't see anything wrong with what you said. Band is under Meadows school and it has been a battle to get them to support to the level that athletics desires. Keep working that point.
Cheer and TV appearance are valid points ( SMU = Super Model University) as is game day presentation. ALL have gotten better and I think Mr. Hart gets it.
My insane goals. Loose 50 pounds, get to the Sweet 16 and football goes bowling next year!!!!
Peace be with you all, Happy New Year.

Finish funding goals for a new Natatorium. Swimming under a tent in the winter time is overrated.
Go Dancing in the NCAA MBB Tournament
Secure good FB and BB recruiting classes.
Help Coach Morris engage the students, alumni and fans and #LockArms
Get the student body committed to FB by arriving at Ford before Kick-off and in great numbers and remains until the game is over.
Become Bowl eligible in HCCM's first season.

Well it is time for Festivus and the "annual airing of grievances."
Know your history and traditions - the "Mustang Band" has never marched over 100 musicians. You don't need a massive band to get the job done. Band is a function of the middle class and now that we have a great band hall the next step is to get a 3 million dollar endowment to provide the financial aid to attract more students.
Please note that for its size, the M Band exceeds expectations, e.g., UT has 50k undergrads and marches about 350. Tx tech marches 440 with an undergrad pop of 35k (1.2%), SMU's comparison is 88 band members / undergrad 6500 (1.35%).
Bus - the M Band has not been in the school of music since 1957. It is currently under Student Affairs.

Yes, please cap it at 96+1 as it should be.
I still don't fully accept the constant call for more aid, although of course it would help. We marched for basically nothing. If the football team is good, people will want to be in the band.
Plus, it's a piece of cake now since you only have to march 6 or 7 games instead of 10 or 11.
Oh, and please no troupe of bloated twirlers in sequins like the SEC. Give me a dance squad like TCU over that any day.

this doesn't need to degenerate to a band topic - but i think they could help themselves by figuring out some fun songs that also fit their brass history - someone send the director the i-tunes list of songs in the commitments - Mustang Sally et al. Much more fun for the students, but not the same old marching junk all the pom pom hat bands play. It wouldn't take that much top update the charts with some better stuff.
and go back to aggressive marching instead of the walking around

Play no more than three 11 am home FB games
Keep EVERY athlete academically eligible
Move the student section south of the band
Have 20,000 "in attendance" for at least one CONFERENCE game
Have FB players get to the point that they are treated the way the BB players are when they go out. No more us against them crap.
Get Cole Beasley and Eric Dickerson to do a punt, pass, and kick at half time of the Baylor Game (hopefully it's still on).
Win a game in which George W. Bush is in attendance, for once
June Jones dunk tank, setup up at a different local high school, every Friday night.
And a win or two might be nice

How in the world do you expect to get Jones to show up at a local high school? He did not do that when it was his job.

Good points. I would recommend appealing more to Texas high school students who are well-rounded individuals and supportive of their university and want to be involved in supporting football and basketball. After all, this is Texas. Those kind of students will be alumni who support and stay active and most will be employed locally. How many foreign or out of state students return to their hometowns after graduation and never return to SMU to support their teams other than maybe a check in the mail from time to time?

Problem is there are not enough of those students who want to pay 50k and are also good enough to keep our school at a high level. I for one don't want to see us go back to the regional average school we were 30 years ago.
