Bruce Chambers Out At Texas

Postby StallionsModelT » Fri Jan 02, 2015 9:54 am

Longtime assistant at UT Bruce Chambers has been let go by Charlie Strong. Chambers was a coach that Strong kept from the Mack Brown staff.

I wonder if its worth kicking the tires on bringing him here? He has a great track record of recruiting DFW and I believe he was the head coach at either Carter or Skyline prior to going down to Texas. He knows the area, knows the coaches, etc. Certainly fits the profile of the kind of coach that Morris has targeted for his staff.
Back off Warchild seriously.

No thank you. He has been the worst coach on the Texas staff for years.

Fair enough. Was he not regarded as a pretty good recruiter, however?

Nice guy who played on some good Carter teams before playing fb at North Texas under Hayden Fry and his position coach was KSU's Bill Snyder. Later coached at Carter taking over after Freddie James. Entrenched on Texas staff with Mac accompanying him or should we say driving him to the high schools for Macs school visits. Is at that age though where retirement might be foremost ahead of trying to further his career.
