With the dead period just about over, Tulsa doesn't seem to have any defensive coaches.
#interestingstrategy
Monty might want to get to work on it.

This is really going to blow your mind when they do hire a defensive coach.

Billy Embody now tweeting it might be Bill Young. He's not listed on the SMU website as a coach at all, after the initial reports of his hire?

Remember his quote, "Chad Morris wouldn't know me, from a lump of coal". Guess Chad didn't know him after all.

Frankly, it would be a great hire for them. He has been successful and has ties to everyone that matters in Oklahoma.

I do not consider this a red flag. The man may have a lot of knowledge but he sounds to me like a Jones type hire. Not a go getter type from the way it sounds.

Billy ought to pay me a commission . Anyway would rather have Oscar Giles at Defensive Line Coach anyway. Giles is an excellent recruiter with 17 years experience including SMU, is being underpaid at Louisiana Tech and actually played on the same defensive team as Van Malone at UT. Go get him and let's recruit. Get Giles on here and this is close to a dream recruiting staff for a G5. Young does not fit the culture of the staff and at about 68 is not the long term answer

How is it a red flag to take a better job for more money closer to home in a state where all your professional ties are?
