I bumped into Christian Holloway at the game tonight.
Super, super nice guy. Sharp too. And looks really in shape (actually more basketball player body than football player right now to be honest). The 6-3 348 on the website is definitely not accurate.
Anyway, he said he can put on weight really quickly, but they are going to run him out at H-Back/TE in the spring and sees how it goes. He is athletic and fluid, and Jones played him at TE in practice in the Fall.
Also, different conversation, but I've heard that they are going to leave Gaines at WR this spring and see how he does.

I could see him being a possession slot guy..blocking, jump balls, guy to throw to in traffic, etc. Just dear god keep him inside and do not try to run him out there like a #1 Wr like Jones did. They must have a lot of faith in the other TE converts/Recruits because Gaines is definitely the most obvious answer at TE

I don't think any of the recruits are going to play much because they are conversions to TE. I think they will offer up the opportunity going into Spring for people to volunteer for that spot because of the promise for immediate playing time. And then after spring and they get a look at players in their original or preferred position they will start moving people over.

Holloway was a prototypical pass rushing DE - 6'5" about 250 very very athletic and fast, high motor. I saw him play. I know I get a lot of [deleted] for supporting him on here, but I doubt any of you saw him play live in high school. I did. I never understood how he didn't get on the field early and often in that role here.
But that was high school. And he was relatively new to the sport. So, maybe his head just wasn't in it. I'd book end he and Zelt with Woods and Hollie on inside. If they found some nastiness that might not be a too bad 4 front. But what do I know.

He didn't mention wanting to move over to the defensive side of the ball at all. Not sure why... but you are right, he would fit much better as a 4-3 DE than a 3-4 DE.

So he shrunk 2 inches since he got to Dallas? Roster now lists him at 6-3.
Either way, if he can contribute, get him on the field!

He looked taller than 6-3.. That might be as accurate as his weight

I would sure like to see what he could do at DE but whatever HCCM decides is fine with me,
