Paul Dawson - the combine

I saw that Paul Dawson ran a 4.93 40 at the combine and did poorly in drills.
That was in the Newark Star Ledger where they were saying the Giants should not consider him in the draft.
Interesting tha he would be that slow in TCU's defense. Maybe the 2 linebackers don't have to be as fast as we thought.
He made a ton of plays at TCU.

you can watch it on the internet. He looks out of shape and he pulled up. There is no way that's a representative time

Unless he has a great Pro Day, he cost himself a whole lot of money.

If an NFL talent evaluator is stupid enough not to pick Dawson because he's not quick or fast enough then he should be fired. Now might not pick him because he's not committed or working hard enough or overweight or a tad small but he's off the charts in speed and quickness during his actual playing career-that's is not his problem-its his asset as draft experts were extolling exactly that based on his actual football performance. He's going to get another shot at the TCU combine and in private workouts. Sometimes these NFL guys out-think themselves

That's it. Gary Patterson is not helping Paul Dawson any more.

We don't have any LBs on the roster that can do this

Yes I was going to post those Dawson highlites from the Peach Bowl but it was too long and he made too many plays-other plays he is not running a 4.94 are at 2:30 and 3:17

So did Tank Carder, and he has a sizzling 32 tackles in 46 NFL games. Not saying they're the same player. Just that the NFL is full of players who had good college careers and did nada in the pros.

If a player cannot show up in shape for the combine, he is probably not the kind of guy you want on your team.

"but he's off the charts in speed and quickness" - the tests and drills at the NFL combine are designed to find out a players actual speed and actual quickness. If Dawson was "off the charts," it was because he was on the bad end of the charts. Unless he "fixes" the results at the TCU pro day, we have to conclude he is not fast and not agile.

While there are guys like Zack Thomas who overcome physical limitations, NFL guys are looking to draft guys who don't have those limitations.

Very likely to run faster at his pro day. Looks like his attitude may be his bigger problem. Major red flag with the lashing out on twitter.

Mental midget? Johnny football Jr?

He purposely performed poorly so he would be skipped by teams he did not want to play for. Will travel to Valley Ranch and secretly perform for the cowboys in private and show his real skills and sign a lucrative deal with them. Why not?

Don't think he lashed out on twitter. Just said he was a football player not a track star. That is just telling it like it is. Some players are workout warriors but don't do a thing in the football games when they put the pads on. I think he had a point.

Why is everyone following a frigging TCU player?

Thought we'd take a brief coffee break from arguing over uniforms in February for the 875th time.
