I wince at the "spirit's the best in the land" line...that's a pretry high standard that we are nowhere near living up to in FB

There are so many versions from different classes and errant AARO squad leaders. The admin needs to go to the band archives and get the official version. As far as musicality goes, "We're Mustangs from SMU" fits the actual music. Adding a THE adds notes that aren't on the sheet music. For reference, listen to it and sing both versions to see what fits.

Fitting the music would result in changing the last Fight Fight Fight to Fi-i-i-ight Fiiii-iiiight Fight.
