Zelt Minor was having a strong spring, working with the first team at the "3 technique" position in the new SMU defense, until a nagging injury started to bother him more, until surgery ended his time on the field. Minor visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the procedure and when he expects to the field.

Sounds like a very painful injury to play through. Hopefully the surgery will be a great benefit for him.

He had a tweet out a bit ago about surgery. Didn't see anyone comment on it around here. Hope he recovers quickly. We are gonna need that big guy.

Go Ponies!

The OS Trigonum bone is the same bone that Rangers #1 prospect Joey Gallo just got removed. Think I heard he'll only be out 2-3 weeks.

Sounds painful. Glad to know Zelt got that bone taken out and is on the road to recovery.

I hope he has a great recovery and comes back even better. We need this guy and personally I'm pulling hard for him. I think he can be the leader our defense really needs . . .
