But that's Playoff distribution only. Total payouts still higher in AAC.

That's right, this doesn't include TV rev which is the highest out of the other 4 leftover conferences.

No offense, but teams like SMU and UConn contributed to this since part of the equation is conference strength. We need more teams improving at the top end too, but having teams in the bottom 10-20 really affects payouts. Hopefully SMU turns it around soon which will lift the whole conference's rating if everyone else at a minimum maintains.

The conference needs that G5 access bowl bid. AAC types said the conference was so strong that the bid was all but assured. What happened?

We needed Boise St. We weren't even close to an access bowl last year given the existence of Boise, Colorado State, and Marshall. Sad
