If the coaches think that Line is the best player on the team (I disagree with that) then he probably gets the start over Gresham. But I like the power game when the both of them are in and Gaines and Sutton/Joseph blocking on the edges. With all that beef I'm not sure we need more than an average line to block (and I know that "average" would be a big step up for this group).

Gresham was pretty limited in the spring so I'm hoping that we see him completely healthy when fall practice starts. I think Prescott is a usable piece, but more in the vein of a utility back in certain packages. I think a power set in the red zone utilizing Prescott Line, Daniel Gresham, and Jeremiah Gaines could be pretty interesting. Also you've got some rangy types on the outside with Courtland Sutton, Alex Honey, and Kevin Thomas. I'd love to see us run some Wildcat in the red zone to make the most out of Matt Davis' talents. I really like a heavy set of this lineup:

QB - Matt Davis
RB - Daniel Gresham
RB - Prescott Line
TE - Jeremiah Gaines
WR - Courtland Sutton
WR - Kevin Thomas

If you wanted to add a little more of a speed element you could sub one of the big backs for Castille or Xavier Jones. Either way that is probably the most recruited skill talent we've had at SMU in 30 years.

Agree 100%. It would seem that this offense can put some points on the board especially against the AAC.

So long as we are playing "who do you think" what happens in the case of an injury to a starting lineman?

Given the lack of depth what happens if Briggs goes down? Does another starter play LT and who takes the spot vacated?

Ditto for C. If Barns starts and needs a breather does Lasecki take over and who would his replacement be?

Maybe the OG positions are less a problem?

As a fan I'm scared by the answer to that question so I'm just going to cross my fingers regarding oline

injuries

Irrelevant. With such a weak starting 5, a backup or 2 wouldn't make a noticeable difference.

Morris will have to cover for the deficiencies with his play calling......hopefully.

Y'all be funny. useable piece utility back. Is that the new word for starting and primary back. Get on board line is the starter. I will agree though a heavy package lead blocking for line would be cool. Pony up

While I don't think Wilds will be a week 1 starter on the OL, I think he works his way into the mix by midsession.
I also think we will see a lot more rotation for the skill players, so who starts at RB and WR won't matter too much
