Lance Aldridge of Austin Sports Commission tells me Austin will pursue bowl game in 2016, not this year. "We thought it was best to wait."

Aldridge was calling NCAA, Football Bowl Association about plans, will have to apply for recertification next year but has "no concerns."

Evidently there is one last hurdle that is keeping cities away. Little Rock was all set for this year and all of a sudden pulled the plug and said they just needed more time.
