The new beach-themed club at Bright House Networks Stadium is entering the final stages of construction, with a completion date still on pace for the Sept. 3 home opener against FIU.

Construction began in February to create a new premium seating experience called the East Side Club, which will add 964 new high-quality seats, as well as a nearly 10,000-square-foot, tiki-themed deck.

The estimated project cost is roughly $2.5 million and UCF Assistant Athletics Director Andy Seeley said there was no indication it will go over budget.

A naming rights deal is being finalized with a local corporate partner that will aim to seamlessly blend the Florida lifestyle and brand.

"Any potential partner that is really interested in the Florida lifestyle is going to have that exposure not only within our stadium, but also on national television whenever the camera pans by there or when a sideline reporter decides they need a unique setting to do their report," Seeley said.

I still think we should lobby the NCAA for women's beach volleyball. Its an Olympic sport for heaven's sake.

We need to add that. They don't even have to be good volleyball players. And why aren't those matches on ESPN? Heck I'd watch that over women's basketball and softball. I note that the TCU outfit is a little modest for my taste.

No need to lobby! NCAA already recognized it as an emerging sport back in 2010 and it was approved as a "championship sport" in 2014.

It looks like it's a good, cheap women's sport to add, too. Rosters are 15 but only 3 scholarships are allowed (equivalency sport - fractional scholarships).
