So I jump ship in Hong Kong and make my way over to Tibet, and I get on ... The Dalai Lama, himself. ... And do you know what the Lama says?

I'm going to do the most SMU fan thing ever here, so please forgive me.

Couldn't we have sprung for a nicer hat? That's one of my gym hats. That's about exactly what it's good for. Guy turned 80, spring for a giant ten gallon hat with a big SMU band around the base.

One wonders if the Dalai Lama himself would have celebrated his 80th at SMU had it not been for the Bush Library?

I'm not making a political statement but a statement of how lucky SMU is to have any Presidential Library. The Clinton Library, regardless of whether one supported or opposed President Clinton, was a huge boost to Little Rock.

We've never had a big band - just a big band sound. Gunga galunga...gunga -- gunga galunga.
