Coming . . . DALLAS (SMU) - Mustang Sports Properties (MSP), the exclusive multimedia rights holder for SMU Athletics, and Block Party Suites (BPS) have partnered to bring Mustang fans an innovative tailgate experience this fall along the historic Boulevard at SMU. Together, MSP and BPS are creating a premium village of luxurious tailgate suites with an all-inclusive package option at the intersection of Binkley Avenue and Bishop Boulevard. http://www.smumustangs.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/071515aaa.html

Great...just what we need...another reason not to go into the stadium.
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

This is so SMU. I hope trying to make an exclusive tailgating enclave doesn't kill the atmosphere of the actual Boulevard.
On the bright side, maybe having the fancy option will free up Boulevard spots for people who actually want to tailgate EVERY game.

More buzz on the boulevard, what's not to like? Sheezz, some of you would complain if you won the lottery.

They're going on Binkley where the good sports tent was so it is right there on the vard. And part of why they are pushing this is cause all the good spots are taken. Like loge seating in moody.

But I think that's way too much money unless half of it goes to the MC.

Honestly, I'm not really willing to call these things a "fancy" option. These things are shipping containers painted white with some sort of laminate/vinyl flooring in them, nice patio furniture, and a couple plasma TVs hung on the wall inside.

So they stick the Mustang Club in with hoi polloi last season and now we are getting bumped down even lower somewhere? Maybe they will give us a place up near Dallas Hall.

I wish they would push for more inclusive things to attract more fans for the DFW area, I know SMU has a small but affluent fan base, but I would rather sacrifice maximizing current revenue in exchange for growth of fan base.

Any idea what HC CM's involvement with / reaction to this scheme might be?
